I had him in the tank for a couple months now, and i had about 4 fish living in the tank before i moved him in. The eel was fine with the fish and wouldnt bother them at all for the past months, but now he has eaten all 4 fish! i tried to add a new fish in today and he ate it too. I think i even overfeed the eel, i feed him shrimp chunks sometimes 3-4 times a week. Is there a way i can stop him from eating all my live fish?

That is what happens with snowflakes. Firstly you are not feeding him nearly enough food. He needs and will eat daily not a few times per week. You can purchase a box of squid keep it in the freezer. Feed him every day and he will leave your fish alone. It is a myth that eels only eat once a week or twice a week. Eels hunt and feed every day in the wild. they are not snakes. Feed him more and he will leave your other fish alone.
when u get any predator fish, you must expect things like this to happen. predators can be random and eat others without reason or like in your case, a few months in.
Really their isnt anything you can do, he is a predator and it comes when you buy them.
Get something that your snowflake eel can't fit into it's mouth. Like a lionfish or something.
Snowflake eels are the most blind of all eels. So basically, they only eat what they smell out. So those fish you have in the tank with it is just food to it. Also, they are predatory fish, so they will eat the other fish just on instinct. Another thought is, that your eel may be getting bigger. Perhaps it was fine with the other fish in there until you over fed it. Now it's getting larger and needs more space. So it ate the other fish to make room for itself. I'd try getting a bigger tank, and maybe even some bigger fish.
if you are having problems with the eel than i would reccomend keeping it as a species only tank. As other have said it is a predator and its just doing what eels do. What size tank is it. you may not have room for other fish but if you do id reccomend opther agressive tankmates. What fish were in there with it that got eaten? If you have the room in the tank for an adult sized eel with more than enough room to spare than you may want to try some triggers but buying large fish is always more expensive and it wouldnt be a risk id be willing to take. so the best bet is to let the eel have the tank to himself.
If you haven't already, test the PH level in the tank water. If it's not at the correct level it may be making him aggressive.
You will either have to get rid of the eel or stop putting any other fish in the tank. Personally I'd get rid of the eel.
get something bigger and just as mean as the eel
